Illusion of The Realm

Concept, Music & Production: Nguyen Quoc Hoang Anh

Category: Experimental Theatre - Site specific performances

Duration: 35 mins

Sponsored by: Nghe House

The story space of Illusion of The Realm is inspired by two works: Recording Dreams in the Mai temple is a Vietnamese poetic story composed by Nguyen Huy Ho in the first half of the 19th century and Scattered Notes of Strange Stories, is the only work of the famous artist Nguyen Du (commonly known as Nguyen Du), who lived around the 16th century in Vietnam.

The space of our existence is divided into three regions: past, present and future. The past is the real domain, the future is the imaginary domain, and the present is the boundary of the other two. Dreaming brings a feeling of nostalgia with a look at the past in the present.

Reorganize the structure, rebuild the character, add or remove details… to recreate and extend into a new story. The work expresses two contradictory dialectical aspects of Living reality: "static" and "dynamic". Dreams are the dynamic aspect of reality, changing as irregular as clouds and wind. Music is developed on Cheo, Chau Van, Ca Tru and Xam materials. Using many elements of folk melodies and traditional beats to create a new harmony for the space of Dimension of Endless.
